Chapter 01

Pick a customer you can reach

A business starts when a specific person can pay you for a specific change. “Everyone who likes good design” is not a customer. “Independent clinics in Lagos that already run ads and hate their booking page” is closer. You should be able to name where those people gather, what they buy instead of you, and why they would switch this quarter.

Use four lines: who they are, where you can talk to ten of them, what they use today, and what pain is expensive enough to pay to remove. If you cannot find ten, the market may be real and still be the wrong market for you. Reach beats romance. A smaller group you can contact this week will teach you faster than a giant audience you can only imagine.

Write the non-customer too. People who want it free, people outside your language, people who need a license you do not have. Saying no is how the offer stays deliverable.

Tonight: write the four lines and list ten real names or ten real places.

Chapter 02

Write the offer in one sentence

Use this shape: “We help [who] get [outcome] in [time] without [feared hassle], for [price].” Then cut the adjectives. A service studio might say: “We rebuild a clinic’s booking page in ten days so fewer calls are lost, for a fixed fee.” A product brand might say: “A weekly coffee box for offices, two blends, pause any time.”

Add the edges. What is included, what is not, how many revisions, what the buyer must supply, and when they pay. Edges prevent the quiet scope that eats a month. If you sell in more than one language, write the sentence in the buyer’s language first and keep the numbers identical. A global company is allowed to be simple. It is not allowed to be vague.

Tonight: one sentence, plus five edges. Read it aloud to someone who does not know your field.

Chapter 03

Run a fourteen-day proof

Proof is not a logo and not a full website. Proof is evidence that a stranger will give time or money. For two weeks, do only this: talk to buyers, publish the one-sentence offer, and ask for a prepaid yes, a deposit, or a dated letter of intent. Track every conversation in one list: name, objection, and whether they paid.

A good proof for a product is ten deposits. A good proof for a service is three paid pilots. A good proof for software is five teams using a manual version you operate yourself. If nobody pays, change the buyer or the outcome before you change the font.

Chapter 04

Price so the company can breathe

Start from the floor, not from a competitor’s homepage. Add the cost of goods or subcontractors, payment fees, delivery, a slice of your time at a rate you would accept for a year, and a buffer for mistakes and refunds. If the honest floor is higher than the market, the offer is too heavy or the buyer is wrong.

Then look at the ceiling: the cost of the problem. A booking page that saves a clinic two staff hours a day can be priced against wages, not against a theme from a template shop. Publish one price. Discounts are a decision you write down, not a habit you invent on a call. Use the calculator further down with your own figures before you print a catalog.

Tonight: floor price, public price, and the one discount you will allow.

Chapter 05

Choose a home base and a sales country

Where you live, where the company is registered, and where the buyer pays tax can be three different places. Do not guess. For a first company, the simplest honest setup usually wins: register where you actually operate, sell where you can support the buyer in their language and time zone, and collect money through a method that settles into an account you control.

Make a research list, then talk to a local advisor before you sign. Typical items: legal form, tax number, whether you must charge VAT or sales tax, invoice fields, data rules if you store customer details, and any license for food, finance, health, or teaching. This page is a field manual, not legal advice. The goal is to know which questions to ask, not to invent answers.

This week: one home country, one sales country, and five questions for an advisor.

Chapter 06

Put up a page that sells without you做一页你不在也能卖的页面

One page is enough. Put the sentence at the top, the price near it, three proofs (a result, a process, a limit), and a single next step: pay, book, or request the deposit. Add delivery time and the refund rule in plain text. Fancy motion does not answer “how do I buy.”

For a global reader, write short sentences, show currency, and say which languages you support. If you only ship to certain countries, say so before checkout. Load the page on a phone and ask someone outside your industry to complete the next step while you stay quiet. Fix whatever makes them hesitate. That hesitation is the real design brief.

Ship the page when a stranger can pay or book without a voice note from you.

Chapter 07

Earn the first hundred

The first ten usually come from people you can name. The next ninety come from a repeatable motion. Choose one: a daily outreach list, a weekly room you host, a search page you improve, a partner who already has the buyers, or a physical place you show up. Do that motion twenty times before you add a second.

Keep a simple tally: conversations, offers sent, yeses, revenue, and the sentence that made someone pause. When a channel produces a yes at a cost you can live with, document the steps so a future teammate could copy them. The first hundred are not a vanity number. They are enough repetition to see what breaks.

Name the motion, the weekly count, and the cost you refuse to pass.

Chapter 08

Deliver without heroics

Write the path from payment to “done” in steps a tired person could follow. For a product: order, pack, label, handoff, tracking, delay message, return. For a service: kickoff questions, draft, review, final, invoice. Put dates on each step. Heroics feel productive and make the company collapse when you get sick.

Tell the buyer what will happen next before they ask. A short status note prevents half of support. If you cross borders, add customs, duties, and who pays them. Surprise fees destroy trust faster than a plain, higher price.

Time one real delivery. Remove one step that does not change the result.

Chapter 09

Five numbers every Monday

Cash in the account. Money that should arrive but has not. Orders or projects in progress. Cost to get one paying customer. Refunds or redos. That is the whole meeting. If cash will not cover the next six weeks of promises, you do not have a marketing problem. You have a pause problem.

Keep the numbers in one place, in one currency you think in, and note the exchange rate if you collect in another. Vanity totals—followers, visits—can sit in a second row. They do not get to lead the meeting until they predict revenue.

Open a Monday note with those five lines. Fill last week from memory, then from records.

Chapter 10

Systemize before you hire

Hire when a task repeats, has a written path, and earns more than it costs. Until then, templates beat teammates. A checklist for packing, a kickoff form, a refund macro, and a folder structure will carry you further than a premature salary.

When you do hire, hire for the path, not for magic. Show the checklist, the quality bar, and the Monday numbers they influence. Contractors in another country can be a gift if the brief is specific and payment is clear. They are a mess if you outsource confusion.

Write the checklist for the task you did three times this month.

Chapter 11

Cross a border on purpose

A second country is a new buyer, a new payment habit, and often a new promise about duties and delivery. Expand when the first country pays reliably and you can support the new buyer during their workday. Translate the offer, not just the menu. Show prices in their currency. Say who pays duties. Answer in their language even if the contract stays in yours.

Pick the country because you can reach buyers there, not because a chart said the market is large. One city you understand beats a continent you have only seen in a report. Read the global notes on this page, then verify with someone who already sells there.

Name the second country only after the first has ten happy deliveries.

Chapter 12

Protect the downside

Write the stop rules while you are calm. Examples: if cash covers fewer than six weeks of promises, pause ads. If refunds pass a level you set, stop selling that item until you know why. If a buyer asks you to hide fees or fake a review, walk away. A company that cannot say no will eventually say yes to something that ends it.

Keep personal spending and company spending apart. Decide a modest pay for yourself so the business is not a story you tell while the bills use another pocket. Review the stop rules on the first Monday of each month. Empire, in this manual, means a company that can last—not a pile of logos.

Write three stop rules and put them above the Monday numbers.

Sell where the buyer already pays

Habits differ more than slogans. Use this as a briefing, then confirm with someone local. Not tax or legal advice.

Americas

In the United States and Canada, cards and bank transfer are expected, and sales tax can change by state or province. In Brazil, PIX is everyday money and installments are part of how people buy larger items. Mexico often uses SPEI and cash-adjacent habits alongside cards. Write the currency, the delivery promise, and who pays duties on cross-border parcels. A page in Portuguese or Spanish will outsell a perfect English page that the buyer cannot finish.

Europe

Buyers expect clear VAT treatment, a real invoice, and a refund path they can find. SEPA transfers sit beside cards. Language is not a detail: a German buyer and a French buyer will not share one careless translation. If you sell into the EU from outside, learn when VAT registration or the one-stop schemes apply before the first campaign, and show delivery times that include customs rather than hiding them.

Africa

Mobile money is normal in much of East Africa, and pay-on-delivery still decides trust in many cities. WhatsApp is often the storefront, the support desk, and the invoice thread. Price in the currency people hold. Confirm the payout path into an account you control, and design delivery around real addresses, not just pins on a map. A voice note that explains the offer can beat a long page.

Middle East中东

Cards are common in the Gulf, while cash and local gateways still matter elsewhere. Arabic-first pages, a Hijri-aware calendar for delivery promises, and respect for weekend timing (often Friday and Saturday) change conversion. Say whether you invoice a company or a person. Trust marks, a local phone number, and a clear return address do more than a global badge you cannot support.

Asia-Pacific

India runs on UPI. Southeast Asia mixes cards with wallets such as GrabPay, GCash, DANA, and PromptPay, and cash on delivery still wins in some categories. Japan and Korea expect precision, careful packaging, and service that answers fast. Australia and New Zealand look familiar to card-first sellers but still punish vague shipping. China-side commerce has its own platforms and rules; treat it as a market you study, not a footnote. Pick one country, one wallet, one language.
